At the E-board Meeting this past weekend:

Great turnout on July 30th when Medicare turned 61.  The meeting with Doris Matsui’s staff was cancelled the night before after 5:00 pm via email because they did not want to meet with a group that was affiliated with National Nurses United even though all the people are constituents.  They still did their presentation and are still asking for Doris Matsui to co-sponsor HR 3069 Medicare for All Bill.  We want to improve and expand Medicare to cover everyone.  Mai Vang only heard about the event the morning of the event after we learned that our appointment had been cancelled.  The event was NOT a campaign event and there was no mention of the upcoming election.  The event was totally focused on our need for Medicare for All since our current system is so broken, unsustainable, and inhumane.   They were able to give the birthday card to the Matsui staff and the staff apologized that the appointment had been cancelled.  If you live in CD 7, please call our representative, Doris Matsui, to sign on the HR 3069.  It has 114 Democratic co-sponsors, but the list does not include Doris Matsui.   Her office phone # is 916-498-5600.

TEAM FLO IS BACK! This session is about more than knocking doors and making calls. It’s about connecting with our neighbors and strategizing how we can govern Sacramento together – because real change starts long before election day.

Whether you’re a seasoned organizer or brand new to this work, there’s a place for you in this movement.
